I came to New York City from Ireland in 1996 and worked for Pierre Finkelstein of Grand Illusion for four years before starting my own decorative painting company.
Since then, I'm fortunate to have completed many major projects both nationally and internationally, working with AD top 100 architects and designers, and clients including such instantly recognizable names as Woody Allen, Paul Simon and Oprah Winfrey, and world-renowned architects such as Robert A. M. Stern and Quinlan Terry.
My work has been published repeatedly in World of Interiors, Veranda, Architectural Digest, the Robb Report, O at Home, California Homes, and the New York Times (newspaper and magazine), as well as featured in numerous online articles. I've contributed a chapter to a new book by Juliette Aristides, called Lessons in Classical Painting, published by Watson Guptill in 2016. I teach classes in painting, and am in the process of writing a non-fiction book about Art and Culture called Painting the Veil.
Recently, and together with artist Mark Kusek, I developed Decorative Imaging Inc. and Imago Floors, two companies specializing in digitally imaged products for the Interior Design trade.
When I'm not working or with my family, I'm rock climbing. Actually that's not really true, but I am at least dreaming about it or reading about it if I'm not able to be out actually doing it much these days. Let's put it this way; it'a a rare day that I don't force rock-climbing into conversations with strangers.
I'm constantly updating the blog with new posts (and adding to old ones), so please Follow this blog... and feel free to drop me a line if you like what you're seeing. I try to respond to every email I get.
