Robert, the Conqueror

It's telling that Jules Verne chose the name 'Robert' for his conqueror: Those were definitely more innocent times. I don't know, maybe the name Bob sounds threatening to a guy called Jules. I've always been a fan of early science fiction Illustration, and these are some of the best. Their extrapolation of what was current technology is really quaint in hindsight.
